Advisory & College/Career Planning

At A+ Charter Schools, our small environment gives students the advantage as they prepare for college. We take the time to focus on each student’s individual goals and work closely with families to ensure students know which important steps to take toward college.

Early College & Vocational Programs

A+ Charter provides opportunities for students who are academically prepared and demonstrate character qualities to experience higher education and/or vocational programs under the guidance of an academic advisor. Students explore a wide range of career-specific, elective offerings. Participation greatly improves the probability that the student will continue in post-secondary education or training after they graduate from A+.

We partner with the following schools and programs to ensure our students are ready for college and careers:

We Are Stronger Together

We are stronger together! The Portrait of a Graduate is a framework, designed by the school in collaboration with community partners and stakeholders, to outline not only academic skills necessary for graduates but also 21st-century skills necessary for post-secondary success. The mission of A+ Charter Schools is to see all graduates apply these skills to their pathway after high school, whether enrolling in post-secondary education (vocational programs, community college, or a university), enlisting in a branch of the military, or entering employment.

Military

The military offers many opportunities. Medical insurance, a steady paycheck, housing, food, and regular raises, along with patriotism and a desire to serve draw many young people to enlist. If you think the military would be a good option for you, it is time to decide which branch and career field you would like. Taking the ASVAB is a large step that will help determine your career field eligibility in each different branch. Bonus money may also sway your decision about what you want to do. Contracts usually last from two to six years with a ready reserve obligation for a total of eight years. Learn more about each branch of the military straight from their websites.
