  • Reese Rachele
    Rachele Reese Principal rreese@aplusaz.org

Rachele Reese brings over two decades of dedicated educational leadership to her role as the founding principal of A+ Charter Schools in Maricopa, Arizona. With a bachelor’s degree in modern languages and humanities from the University of Puerto Rico and a master’s in administration from the University of Phoenix, she has cultivated a career marked by innovation, inclusivity, and a deep commitment to student success.

Ms. Reese began her educational journey in 1999 as an English language learner (ELL) and language arts teacher. Her passion for supporting multilingual learners led her to serve as the ELL coordinator for the Maricopa Unified School District, where she developed programs to enhance language acquisition and academic achievement. Her leadership capabilities further propelled her into roles as assistant principal and elementary principal within the district.

A resident of Maricopa for over twenty-six years, Ms. Reese's dedication to education is deeply personal. Her advocacy was ignited by her own experiences supporting her son’s educational needs during times when adequate school services were lacking. This personal mission to ensure equitable education for all students has been the cornerstone of her career.

In 2020, Ms. Reese realized her vision by establishing A+ Charter Schools, a sixth through twelfth grade institution emphasizing character development and personalized learning through the project-based learning (PBL) model. Under her leadership, the school has expanded to include sixth grade and adopted a four-day instructional week to better serve students' needs. Her innovative approach ensures that education is tailored to each student's strengths and aspirations.

Ms. Reese’s legacy in Maricopa runs deep. Many current A+ Charter School students are the children of her former students—who she affectionately calls her "grandstudents." Her enduring impact on families and the community is a testament to her lifelong dedication to learning.

Beyond the school walls, Ms. Reese is a proud mother of three children, all of whom have grown into successful adults. She is married to Mat Reese, a longtime Maricopa educator and administrator, and a former AIA Athletic Director of the Year. Together, they share a passion for student development and community building.
